The Heart of Flashy After Fifty: Anchors, Friendship & Glam

When I thought about the feel I wanted for this space, I knew it had to mirror my own life. I’ve been blessed with friendships that showed up for me in different ways — and I pray I’ve been that same blessing in return. Some cheered me on when I was winning, some pushed me when I wanted to play it safe, some prayed for me when I couldn’t find the words myself, and some just made me laugh until my stomach hurt.

That’s the beauty of sisterhood — it’s layered. And those layers are exactly what I want Flashy After Fifty to reflect.

When I think about it, it reminds me of the friendships we all recognize:

• Oprah & Gayle → the kind of friends who ride along for decades, steady through every season, always rooting for each other.

• Thelma & Louise → the kind of friends who throw caution to the wind and say, “Girl, we’re doing this!” even when it’s wild.

• Samantha & Carrie (Sex and the City) → the kind of friends who bring the glam, the giggles, and the truth-telling over brunch.

• Joan & Toni (Girlfriends) → the kind of friends who will check you with love, push you higher, and still toast you with a glass of wine afterward.

• Mary & Elizabeth → the kind of friends who see your blessing, speak life into it, and rejoice with you because faith connects you both.

That mix — wisdom, boldness, glam, laughter, and faith — is what I want this blog to feel like. Because life after fifty isn’t about slowing down, it’s about stepping fully into who we are, surrounded by the friendships that help us shine.

For me, these are my anchors… the women, the memories, the moments that keep me grounded and glowing.

Now I want to hear from you: who are the anchors in your life? Do you have an Oprah & Gayle? A Thelma & Louise? Or maybe your own Mary & Elizabeth? Drop them in the comments — because this space isn’t just my story, it’s ours.

Love, peace, and classness 💕
